Panoramic photographer Robert Percy Moore (1881-1948) was born in Christchurch, New Zealand. During World War I, Moore was a travelling photographer in Queensland. In 1919 he had a studio at 379 Kent Street, Sydney, and his earliest panoramic photographs date from this time.

From 1923 to 1931 Moore operated from a studio at 88 Manners Street, Wellington, specialising in panoramic photographs made with a Cirkut camera. During the 1930s and 1940s he lived at different times in Australia and New Zealand. From 1936 to 1941 he was in partnership with James Thompson in the Panora studio in Rotorua. He died in Sydney.
